10 short years unless the govt has their way and band RHD vehicles
The guy is irritating but maybe the Civic Type R will be coming to North America afterall.

Not a bad looking car. But I feel hondas a bit too late to jump on the turbo sport compact band wagon.. but I heard it was going to be the fastest car they have ever sold faster then the nsx. And one of the fastest fwd cars to date..
Lol...honda pro.. everyone thinks they are a honda pro..
Looks alright from a few angles.
Fugly everywhere else.
But somebody buying a Type-R wouldn't give two shits about looks, anyway...
A driver's car is a driver's car.
Honda knows what they're doing.
There's a reason why McLaren used the NSX as the engineering benchmark for their cars.
looks good IMO
Kinda reminds me of a Fiesta, not the front end but the overall shape of the car.
SOLD - 2012 GX Hatch
still a civic, no thx.
Still faster than 75% of the cars on here

It's beautiful and we know its going to be a damn great car. Honda-hate aside. If this lands in NA, bye-bye MS3.

It looks like the Type R will come in the 2017/18 model year, but it has been confirmed for NA.

The NA Civic will also be coming in a standard 5-door hatch, along with the sedan and couple. The higher end trims will come with a new 1.5L turbo, while the base trim with have a new 2.0L.
My guess is the the SI and Acura ILX will get their existing 2.4L replaced with the 1.5L Turbo. It should have comparable performance with greater torque, much better gas mileage and lighter weight.
I sure hope not. That like the engine in the veloster. 1.6l turbo. If you want a gutless pos turbo car. Sure buy it. But its not fast. I have yet to drive the fiesta st but i have a feeling that would be better. But still im unimpressed by the smaller engines with turbos that make you think they should be fast because they have them.
And if personally prefer the all motor civic anyway. And thats kind of there tradition with that car. So hopefully that stays. Even if they put a small turbo on it. But id suppose it needs to have enough room between it and the type r. Similar to the foucs st and rs differences.
I don't know if it makes too much sense to have Si & Type R if Type R comes to NA. The Si was always like NA's Type R Civic.
Honda's so late to the party and is finally joining the turbo crew, hopefully this means they will have perfected the 1.5L Turbo.
I've driven the Veloster 1.6 Turbo and it's literally like they slapped on a turbo onto the existing engine without doing anything else. Honda will be smarter and better.

According to this test from 18 months ago the 1.5l Turbo was rated at 201hp and 192lb-ft. That is 4 less hp and 18 additional lb-ft than the existing 2.4l, while reducing weight.
