Thumbs up Finally Got into a MS3

Finally got my hands on a Mazdaspeed3...

Little background, 2 years ago I was in the market for a MS3 and was looking at new and used. New turned out to be somewhat out of my budget even with all the incentives being offered late in the year. I ended up getting a 2008 Civic Si with 40k for a grear price as I needed to get something as my current car was toast it was the next best. Fast forward to today and the Civic has 88k and just recently repainted under warranty from Honda Canada do to clear coat de-laminating and spider cracks in the hood. The car is in min condition and I thought to myself why not see what dealers will give me and maybe I could get into a new car without affecting current payment structure.

I noticed a 2010 MS3 for sale in St-Catherine's and decided to go give it a spin with my buddy... Unfortunately there was just to many issues with this car and it was slightly modified and I would rather not get somebody else projects when buying a used car. I then went and gave the new 2014 Fiesta ST a go, man are those seats comfy.. The car was good and very darty around town and on the highway, unfortunately the dealership was basically trying to steal my car away from me and decided to keep looking. After more searching on auto trader I found a silver 2012 MS3 at performance Acura. The manager there was great and all the numbers lined up just great. I took the car overnight and ran it through it's passes everything felt great.

After going over the necessary paperwork I'm hopping to take ownership of the car this week some time..

I'll post pictures once I get her home..

Did you do a compression test when you took it home overnight?

    Its a 12..
Chances are its still under factory warranty.
    Congrats on the purchase!

Also.. have a Mazda dealership perform a compression test..
If it fails, I doubt they'd have an issue putting in a repair claim..

SO far, I like not having to shift a thousand times while driving in town. The gears are so close in the Si, It's meant to stay in VTECH all the time, but really with 3rd gear topping out at over 120km/h and fuel prices what they are when am I ever going to do that. The Si was a 2 door also and with a 6 year old always cramming her in the back seat was getting a little tiresome. And having over 2x the amount of torque available at 3k rpm is pretty awesome!!!!! Only thing the civic is better at is shifting, the gear changes and cluth are just butter on the Si but I got over that in a couple hours when I floored it got pinned back in my seat, certain trade offs I could live with.

Here are some pictures I took.

If you want to stiffen up the shifter, get some shifter base bushings. Makes it feel new, instead of sloppy seconds.
