anyone know a good place to replace rear bumper on a 2014 3 gt sedan..?

Hi everyone! So yea i was wondering if anyone knows a good shop that will repair a mazda 3 2014 rear bumper. It got rear ended today and one of the quotes i got was for $1000. That seems a bit steep to me, so i was wondering if anyone else knows of a better place to get minor collisions fixed.

$1000 is not expensive....

When I backed into a pole a few years ago I it cost me around $600....

That was me buying brand new bumper cover and then getting it painted and I installed it my self so really $1000 is not that bad if someone else is doing the work

It's not worth it imo.
Your car is still new, so there aren't many available aftermarket parts, so it's going to cost a lot for a bit.

Exactly. If somebody hits you they are at fault. I also don't know what the problem is here with the OP.

I was recently hit from behind with very minor damage (ie, bolt of license plate pressed into bumper cover and left a hole) and just called up and submitted an insurance claim next day - I was not at fault and my rates not going up either. Repair job was great and guaranteed for life. Had a rental car for a week as well.

Am I missing something here, the OP said he was rear ended. Isn't the cost the problem of whoever ran into him, and if so why is the cost an issue.

In that case $1000 is about average for a replacement bumper cover painted and installed, you have a brand new car and friend or not you would be nuts to settle for less than a top rate repair. I guarantee that if you settle for a cheapy job, you will be pissed every time you look at it.

^ +1 For my insurance claim they ended up repairing (because just a tiny indent) the bumper cover, paint, clearcoat and install a new license plate light bulb and socket. It was close to a grand after taxes. Job was impeccable and lifetime Aviva warranty.

So yeah, $1k seems reasonable to me. I agree a cheap job will haunt you forever...

well... get as much money from your friend as you can, then top off with your own reserves. and do a good job. a crappy job, like others have said, will haunt you.

If he felt a single bump then his friend is in the clear... Double bump then his friend is at fault

It would be cheaper for the guy to pay damage out if his own pocket then to get insurnace involved.

Wrong. Insurance companies don't know who hit who first in a chain reaction so the car behind is responsible for the damage to the car in front of them.

If the cars in the chain reaction were stopped then only the car that started the chain is held accountable.

Just went through it last week. I was the middle vehicle.

Section 9-1 deals with chain reaction.

If vehicles are moving the instigating vehicle is 100% at fault for middle car, middle car is 50% at fault for car in front.

If vehicles are stopped the instigating vehicle is 100% at fault for the middle and front vehicle.


***by instigating vehicle I mean the one in the rear of the chain. So only front end damage.
