"A car is just fast enough when you stand in front of it in the morning and are afraid to unlock it" -Walter Rohrl
The price is disappointing. I was looking forward to this car.. but hard to ignore the Golf R for 40k.

worst case wait and buy a used one or demo after a year. im sure the dealers are going to have a few on the roads for managers and what not. so if color doesn't really matter could be worth waiting for a year and saving some cash. might be able to get it for under 40 or less with 10 k on it.

"Just wanted to say hi. I just bought an 07 Mazdaspeed3 with 120,000kms on it.*
I have had it about a month and so far mods are as follows"
yea but that's what warranty is for. and 1 year even if it has 24,000 km. which I highly doubt as I think most of these owners will store these cars for the winter. so you get a one year old car built to take a beating with 12 000km on it and maybe save $10 000.. I dunno. that makes sense to me. and besides you drive it before you get it. so what if the prior owner beats it. its a race car. that's what its for
ooo Loki you are the best!!
I agree with you, but I don't think too many people are stupid enough to beat on something they paid that much for. I think most people that end up selling after a year or two fully intended to keep the car longer (and take care of it) but either they lose their job, get married or buy a house and priorities change.
I'm in the market for a 2015/16 WRX and found one yesterday with 9,000km that was being sold because the guy got a company car and bought a house.
I agree 100%. I was more on the side of the manager or owner of a dealership having the car for a year and beating on it. Then turning around and selling it for $5k off in a year.
I honestly feel bad for the guys who buy their "dream car" and then lifestyle changes end up forcing them to sell it. I trust those guys more than I would a dealership owner. The guy who is on hard times likely treats the car very well as it was planned as a longer term thing.
True. Not saying I am right. Just my opinion. There are exceptions to every rule, but we all like to think that we understand better than we do!
$47,000 is a lot to pay for any hatchback, especially one without a fancy brand name attached. You can get an S3 or M235i for less and a CLA45 AMG is only slightly more. Sure, it's the ultimate Focus, but I don't think they'll move that many of these. It's nice that they're building it at all.
They will sell out of them no problem.
The CLA45 AMG is $65,000 after you get the options most people would.
They won't sell 50,000 of them because they aren't making that many. I heard 12,000 for America. Probably 2,000 for Canada.
They will sell no problem. Once first drives start coming out, they will be sold out.
An RS doesn't come around too often, and this is the first time it's been here.
For me personally, the name means nothing. I would never buy a Mercedes just because it is a Mercedes. When you do that, you miss out on an entire market full of amazing cars. It's doing a disservice to yourself.
I agree - they will have no problems selling these out. Everyone is crazy excited about them - and these guys don't care that for the price there is no luxury name attached. I have heard the odd "but its a Ford... but reliability has improved I guess!" but actually not the luxury argument surprisingly.
I admit its quite a pricey car though but it has a niche market carved out for it.
2015 Subaru WRX Sport / Dark Grey Metallic
2007 Mazda3 Sport GS 2.3L / Crystal Pearl White / 5spd - rip
My buddy at Ford corporate has confirmed that all RS sold will include a winter wheel and tire package exclusive to Canada. Most are spoken for. If I still had my Gen Coupe, I would have easily traded it in for a RS and not even balk at the price.
A comparison was released today between the Subaru STI vs the Golf R. Can't wait to see what happens when the RS is thrown into the mix. Seriously for the price, the RS is a biggest deal in this segment. Take into consideration that Subaru and VW can't keep the STI or Golf R's in stock so people are more than happy to pay for these cars.

It is certainly giving you a lot for your buck. Unfortunately they dont give you the option to have a "base" RS like they do the STI. So the STI starts at $39,000 which is affordable for me. Unfortunately after the Nitrous Blue paint, the RS is $48,000 which is just too much. A great deal because it comes with a dedicated winter set up, but too expensive for me none the less. I am sad.
I have one on order, Nitrous Blue. All the cars are sold out for this spring so hopefully I will get mine spring 2017. I think it is priced competitively, an Evolution Final Edition is $49,498 and a loaded STi (which is direct competition) is $45,395. Not to mention the RS comes with 18" aluminum wheels and tires for the winter and a car cover.

I am torn as wether to store it or not. I have had cars that I have stored for the winter before and I am not sure if I want to go through that again. I would like to enjoy the RS all year round especially it being my first AWD car but, I would also like to keep the car stock and mint. Perhaps I will keep my MS3 as my winter beater,, especially that it only has 113,000 km, mint and very reliable.
