Price check: 2010 Mazda 3 Sport GX

Hi guys,

I'm thinking about upgrading my car, wanted to know what would be a fair price for my 2010 Mazda 3 Sport GX. It's got 160k mileage, has a clean history (i have a car proof report), two sets of tires/rims, rust proofed etc.

I bought it for $7900 + tax from a dealer last year. I guess i might have overpaid by a bit but i couldn't find a better deal at the time and it was my first car purchase in Canada so didn't want to buy privately.

Also what would you guys recommend, selling it privately or trading it in with a dealer? Thinking of either getting a 2015 Subaru Impreza WRX, or maybe a used 08+ Infiniti G37 sport or Bmw 3 series coupe.

If you're not in a rush, privately would always net you more. When I was looking for a used car, I used this website to see if the price is reasonable.

There are others out there like Blackbook to have more numbers in hand. Also, check autotrader for similar 3s being advertised.

Thanks for the reply. I've priced it at $7500, which i consider fair since i paid more than that plus i got a set of winter wheels/tires for it as well. That's still less than the wholesale price on that website and cheaper than the dealer advertised cars i can see advertised in my area (kitchener/waterlooo). I just wanted to get a better idea because i'm getting low ball offers like $4k-$5k.

Went on autotrader.ca and searched the year and rough mileage. Your price seems competitive as most seem to be selling/asking $8,500 or so.

I bought my 2010 GX for $9.6k at dealer. It had 92k mileage on it. I also went on autotrader. Similar years + mileage is priced between $8-10k

I traded in my 2010 gx sport with about 70k. Got 10 grand for it, so... Based on your mileage I'd say you're in the right price range.

Nissan dealer, for my truck.

Shop around though. The first dealer only offered me 8 grand.

Get them out the hook with a nice price, and THEN tell them about your trade in.
