That's not factory. So I reckon a heat gun and patience.
It's the rubber belt trim moulding that I'm trying to pull off, not the vinyl.
It's the long black trim outside, before the glass. Looking to remove it for repairs I need to do. If anyone has any idea or a link? Thx...
Just comes off its clipped onto the door just be careful not too break the clips
Dan, which way? Straight up or back?
This would be a great how to section, if anyone could make a post online on how to remove the outside moulding belt trim, please do.
So far this is the link I got from my search http://www.thaimazda3.com/svmanual/e...html#wp1025486
The clip where the doors meet is probably going to break. Such a flimsy piece of plastic that as soon as you put pressure on it it likes to snap. Otherwise, have your window down, put the tips of your fingers in the spot between both seals, and push upwards with your thumbs on the bottom of the piece. It releases the clips in the middle, but the one at the end breaks SUPER easy.

I've been told buy a replacement before taking off belt trim moulding. So far no videos or how to, anywhere online. Anyone else have a link?
Thx Reddie!
Please do, you should put it on the "how to section" create a link from this post. So far I got pm ' s about this....
Thx Reddie!
I've replaced these on my car. I was replacing damaged molding, so I didn't care if I broke them, but....
You WILL break the clips getting it off. Well, almost certainly you will. You need to remove the mirrors first (pull off the trim on the inside, remove three bolts). For the window molding, I suggest bending/rolling it up and in to unhook from the door. There are some tabs that will be broken when you try to remove them... unless you remove the inner door and glass there is no good way to get at them to compress the clips barbs.

How much was the trim? Reason why I want to do this is to carefully remove the black vinyl and repair minor rust forming underneath. I may just buy a new trim.
Mazda with the rust issues, hate it...
@401DIXIETONY you want to chime in here
Noisy crow, you manage to get a video uploaded?
