I think I remember reading somewhere that you can use the 2.3 intake on a 2.5 without issue. Can anyone confirm?

A CAI or SRI? Yes, they should fit perfectly. I had my SRI on from my 2.3 onto my 2.5. The only issue is one of the mounts from the 1st gen isn't there on the second gen for a CAI.

yes lizz @sharkbait has the 2.3L mazdaspeed cold air on her 2.0L but I would assume it would work on the 2.5L as well as my 2.0L has the AEM cold air for the 2.5L. just need to change the hoses and mount brackets a bit. other wise they both have had 0 issues and no CELS
heres the write up I did way back

Thanks!
For a SRI there's literally no difference installing on a 2.3 vs 2.5 other than an extra hose to work around.
Might be a stupid question but what about the turbo inlet pipe on the 2.3 intake? the 2.5 RAI does not have one correct?
* (SRI) sorry new and don't know how to edit the reply.
oh OK thank you
so if I got the one I am looking at for the 2.3 and go to install it on my 2.5L...what happens with that inlet pipe?
They don't seem to make cold air intakes for the 2.5 (that I can see). I looked around on the forum and have read that there isn't much diff in the setups and they are compatible with 2.5L.
A 2.3 turbo intake will not work on a 2.5 naturally aspirated Mazda 3. A regular 2.3L Short Ram Intake WILL work on a 2.5L engine. I can not be positive about the locations of the mounts on a 2.3L intake setup because it has been a long time since I installed a Cold Air Intake onto a 2.3 or a 2.5. I have the 2.3 Turbo CAI and it will definitely not fit a different Mazda 3.
To have a proper intake for a 2.5L engine you need to be looking for a 2006-2009 Mazda 3 intake for the 2.3L engine.
This is a 2.5L intake
This is the 2.3L Turbo intake
Not the best photo, but the intake goes back beside the battery box because it has to feed into the turbo.
