    Default Aftermarket filter cap

So after buying my 3 a couple months ago, I finally decided to do an oil change before the snow hits. I've been hearing a whole bunch of warnings and horror stories about the oil filter cap though, specifically how it's two parts that could possibly break apart. Does anyone know of an aftermarket filter cap that is one solid piece? I ordered in the tool to get it off properly, but I can't shake the feeling that one day the cap is going to hate me and break apart anyways.

PS. I've also been considering making the switch to twist on filters, but at the moment I don't want to get into anything too intensive, as I do all my work in my driveway.

I have not seen any aftermarket, but FWIW I still have my original oil filter housing cap on my '08. No problems with it.

Most problems i've seen come from people not using the right tool to remove them. (the people removing them with a channel lock)

Thanks, that actually does reassure me. I've only ever used twist on filters, so when I heard that the canister cap has had issues, it kinda spooked me.

my 2004 is still on it's original filter housing as well. I did however buy a second to make the changes faster. Instead of pulling it, letting it drain out, toss the filter reload and install, i just put the new filter on the other housing and swap them in every other oil change back and forth. Lets me clean it out at my leisure since i have 8000 km til the next one.
