Default License plate relocater left in bumper...

Bought my 2012 3 in the summer, and I wanted to get a license plate relocation kit. I went to go look at how it'd mount, and I found that the previous owner has left the stud that screws into where the shipping hook would go. I can't seem to get it out with my hands, vice grips, even doing the two nuts and trying to get it out that way. The space is so small, I've been told to just take the bumper off and get at it there. Is that my only option? I was hoping to find out the manufacturer and just get the replacement parts, I doubt that's gonna happen though.

    Thanks for the help guys!

I believe your talking about that big thing that screws into the tow hook? Mine siezed up but not to the point where i'd have to cut it off or anything . I just bought a can of that screw/bolt penatrating spray from canadian tire. Spray, twist left and right repeat.hope this helps yah!

Unless you have some huge deep socket that will go over it and still go through the tow hook opening, i would take the bumper off. Once that's off you will have plenty of room to get at it. Also, removing the bumper is very easy

Will do that if the penetrating fluid doesn't get it done. The socket I used was deep enough but it just ended up twisting both bolts off. I' ll look into taking the bumper off. Thanks!
