as far as i know, installing lowering springs with stock shocks will shorten the life of the stock shocks. unless your oem springs are broken, wait until you are ready to replace your oem shocks with the konis

Lots of people have run lowering springs with stock dampers. Can't see why moderate lower springs would shorten their life.... stiffer springs with reduced travel mean less shock movement, so unless you make a habit of bottoming out the suspension they should be no worse off. That said, if you intend to switch to Konis I would wait... otherwise you are looking at paying twice the labour costs, and likely will need to get the car aligned both times.

I agree with both points. It may depend though on how low the springs drop the car as to how long the dampers last, I managed 220k+ with my oem dampers running on Pro-kits the whole time.

Do it once and do it right. Plus you're wasting labour and alignment cost by doing it twice.

Just look out for a set of used dampers if cost is a concern.

Yeah, if you're doing shocks next summer, just do the springs at the same time. It's a different story if your waiting a year or more before doing the shocks.

I'd personally recommend a set of aftermarket shocks and struts. Something like Konis, Tokicos, etc...

The factory setup is designed for the stock spring rates. Unless you have unlimited access to a hoist and spring compressor then do like I said above.
