Mazda 3 engine swap

I have swapped out my blown 2006 2.3liter for a 2005 2.3. I swapped the harness and all the sensors to the 2006 parts. I kept my intake, throttle body, coils, and exhaust manifold. The end result is no spark. Are there any other differences that need to be addressed? Any help or past experiences would be appreciated.

Think I may have figured it out. Different harmonic balancer, completely different notches.(about the only thing I didn't change) Please feel free to comment, not there yet.

Still have a none running car. Starts and runs for 3secs and shuts off. Giving throttle position sensor code, but swapped out and made no difference. Giving cam position sensor code but runs smooth for 3secs, so it can't be off or not sending a signal. Gives an 02 sensor high voltage code? But 02 sensor should not cause a shut down. Help!! Anyone?

I'd check exactly which versions of the '05 and '06 engines you are dealing with. There were changes to the 02 sensor setup sometime between '05 and '07. I believe that the change occurred at some point in the '06 model year, but I am nowhere near positive about that.

I don't think you know how dirty my hands have gotten on these cars, let alone the amount of members cars I've touched.

It sounds like you are quite experienced. Instead of calling the guy an idiot, care to share any knowledge you might have and contribute something to the thread?

He's gone through enough steps that pretty much anyone here, besides those that are mechanics, including myself, might recommend. His next step, is a mechanic with full diagnostic tools. Which was my recommendation.
