Edit: I can better answer this now. On a 2004-2008.5 (gen 1) - the door from a hatch will not fit a sedan. The body line is different on the hatch.

The hatch has a recessed body line which starts at the headlights and continues the length of the car. This is not present in the gen1 sedan

Gen 2 - don't know.
