    Thanks @mazdaman007 for your feedback!

I am now focused on the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 which is the Bridgestone Adrenalin RE003 from Japan and Australia region. This is the 3rd generation of the RE760 Sport which was called the RE001 overseas with many improvements over the older RE760. Bridgestone owns the Firestone brand. Pricing on these are fantastic as well...at least in the US. Waiting on quotes from our local sponsors.

Reviews look great not only from TR but from other online car enthusiast forums. Sticky dry and wet traction with good daily driver manners with better comfort and noise! Being a UHP Summer tire, it won't have as high a wear rating as the Michelin A/S 3 series, but should come in much cheaper and quieter, and these tires look great!

And thankfully the weight of these Indy 500's are 6lbs lighter (22lbs) than 205/50/17 RE760's which came in at 28lbs!

Lovers of the RE760 Sport (such as @Kiewan) will definitely be interested in these...

Will do. Hopefully will have them on my rims this Friday at Tires23 and possibly will swap onto the car on the weekend. Depends on long term weather outlook.

    FirehawK Indy 500 Review

Thought I would report back after having the Indy 500's on the car for almost 3 weeks now. My car is stock 17's with 205/50/17 rubber

    • Amazing aggressive look and stance
    • Smooth riding and excellent handing for daily driving! - bumps are not harsh and noise is much less than I expected on the highway and local roads.
    • Absolutely amazing dry AND wet traction
    • Tires do not squeel even when pushed to the limit
    • Fantastic cornering capabilities even with stock swaybars and not being lowered
    • Mileage has decreased thou since I am now driving the car more aggressively most of the time now
    • Steering feel is not quite as heavy and road connected as my older michelins but response is very good
    • Highway tracking is decent although slanted lanes tend to require a bit more steering compensation (yes car was aligned at Altech right after tires installed)
    • Driving is much more fun all around now - very happy with this purchase
    • Cannot comment yet on tire longevity but time will tell - UTQG 340 A A rated
    • Amazingly low priced!

Highly recommended for those seeking fantastic wet and dry performance at a very attractive price point.

I am getting a set of Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires mounted on my Mazda 3 rims today to try out. In case anyone is interested Firestone has a $100 rebate starting today until May 27 2018

They have been off the car since mid-November. Hopefully one of these days I can get them back on again but this weather has been craptastic for all summer rubber!

Might as well not think about it, looks like May before switching safely. Temps should be better then, and hopefully in the last couple of weeks of April the roads will get repaired. Atleast major potholes anyways.

    Optimism.

with the forecasted freezing rain and low temps this weekend, maybe I'll change over next weekend or so....
looking forward to the new tires

Yes...I think by the end of next week it should be ok. Watching the 2 week TWN forecast has been a depressing affair this spring...

Well the long range forecast as of today shows the temps going up after next Wednesday steady at 6 to 10C, but that's only one concern. The roads are horrible this year, would hate to see you destroy a new tire or a rim because you manage to hit a huge pothole you couldn't avoid, if you know what I'm saying....Its your choice. I'll play it safe and wait a tad longer.

Mentally marked my calendar for next weekend - forecast and temps look goooood!

Not worried about a few potholes. If you wait for the roads to be "patched" you will be waiting a long time man!....

Well where I am the roads are pretty bad this year, some badass potholes. Maybe where you travel its not so bad. I also didn't mean to wait till the roads are fixed, but till the worst of the repairs are done. I would think by the end of this month, (weather permitting) they should be pretty much done.

Anyway just my opinion on the matter, I'd prefer to wait and not take the chance of damaging my wheels, plus I'm getting used to the soft plushy ride of my snows.

Are you guys looking for a set of pure summer tires or good 4 seasons tires ( winter tires in winter of course)?

For 4 seasons tires I just have my first set of Pirelli P7 Plus (91H) last week. Yes, right before the super bad ice strom.

It's just surprisingly good!! Very quiet, great traction and handling. Not know yet but tread wear rating as high as 700!

In the ice strom it just worked well and almost like a winter tire! Much better than I expected a 4 season tire can do in the icy road surface.

And this tire is not going to empty you pocket, with a fair price of less than 500$ (60$ mail in rebate) all included for 4 205/55/16 I think it's a good deal for anyone looking for a set of new tires ~

Firestones - So far so good. No wheel hop on uphill starts, super grippy on on/off ramps, more forgiving than my RE760Ss when you hit a bump. But they are 1 week old so any tire performs decently at this point. Happy with the value for sure.

My Firehawks handle the bumps better than my 4 yr old Blizzaks I just took off!

I put bfgoodrich g force comp 2 a/s on my car way better than the Michelin primacy that they replaced super grip in the rain no tire spinning at all.
