Default Wheel would not come off

I changed into my summer rims today. and I experienced something new. When I took off all the lugs, my rim was still stuck to the car. usually a simple kick would do the trick but this time it was quite different. I kicked it for a good 10 mins but it still wouldn't budge. I ended up loosely tightening my lugs and drove the car for like 10 meters. That did the trick but felt like that was a dangerous move on my part.... Any suggestions on another safer and easier way for me to do it next time??

Anti-seize on the wheel hubs will prevent this. Use at changeover in the fall and spring.

Do a quick search here on the forum for more details if needed.

grab the tire you want to put on, and bang it into the tire you're trying to take off like a hammer

obviously your car should be secured to the jack stands.

Rubber mallet is a cheap and wise investment.

Had the same issue with my mother's car (yay dealer maintained car), tried the mule kick, rubber mallet, hammer with board....none worked so reverted to what you did. Thankfully 3/4 of a wheel rotation was enough. Made sure to anti-seize all the wheels before reinstalling them. Gyro, when the next service is done you're welcome.

As long as there not super low profile tires I have always found a 10 pound sledge hammer works well when using the end of it and driving it into the tire couple blows they usually pop off (never use this method of you have expense rims just in case lol)

I do a couple of dab type sprays with rust inhibitor on the hubs before I put any wheels back on the car, never had an issue. Even have had the dealer or shop put tires on meaning i missed an application but still no issues.
