Looks like it gets the LED headlight like the rest of the Mazda lineup, too bad. Otherwise it looks great, low and wide.....now give us a speed version so I can upgrade!

Prefer the original, but I'm biased.

Not a fan of Gen3 overall but this just looks awkward.

Looks like a Mazda 2, with the rounded headlights... The area around the fogs looks strange. I think the current gen is looks sharper.

I like the new interior however, with the electronic parking brake, lower-sitting screen (smaller border on the bottom side), higher center console, covered cup-holders.

I'm curious to see what they did on the NVH side!

Why does anyone need an electronic parking brake? - yet another thing that can cost more to fix, or might not work properly if the battery voltage isn't at perfect optimal voltage? Someone please explain the benefits if there are any? I'm just not a fan of making simple things into electronically-controlled things, especially on a car.

Nobody needs it. It's another techy thing for manufactures to include, and it saves space in the interior. Without using the foot parking brake method.

Looked at the interior pics, looks much better I think, sleeker screen, well if this out in August and September and mines a writeoff looks I'll be Mazda-less for 3 months

Will they at least beef up the CPU in the infotainment unit? The UI plays catch-up with input, and frequently fails to respond unless you rotate/shift the knob slowly.

It's unacceptable, IMO, how slow the response is in this unit.

What are you using for music?

I've had a 16gig ipod nano plugged in an a 128gig iPhone 6s with no issues on going through playlists fast to find a song.

I recently put a usb key in it with music but honestly haven't driven the car since i did so not sure about that one.

Not OP, but when I connect my iphone 5 via bluetooth, and I'm scrolling by artist, it can take time to load. Have to scroll, wait, scroll, wait, etc. The waits are only a split second though. It might be faster via aux cord or usb but it doesn't bother me enough to switch

Ive tried my android phone thru Bluetooth but control it from the phone so I don't have any input on that. Other then that. The iPod and iPhone were hard wired in.

My comment was not about music per se, just a general functionality issue - listening to radio, bring up settings, adjust fade, or jump to navigation, hide the nav panel, restore, seek an address - the UI lags behind my input, unless I do it deliberately slow.

Bluetooth is mostly fine, with the occasional situation where it's choppy, when i need to disable bluetooth and re-enable it.

This tells me the unit is not powerful enough and the software has bugs / is not optimized.

Hmm. Either you're very quick or something is wrong with yours. Have you tested other mazda's to see if its the same with others?

we dont have issues of lagging with ours. not sure what firmware is on ours but it did get updated just before christmas.

I'm agree with a few others here - the 2017 exterior front is not an improvement over the original gen3 fresh, sharp face. They've rounded out the grill and pushed out the bottom corners. Yes, wider looks better, but now slightly blander - this is yet another derivative styling attempt on an already very favourable design. Reminds me of how BMW made the gen2 Mini more blander by rounding off the front and rear ends - again, derivative styling changes. And they switched from supercharging to turbo for the CopperS! Don't get me started on that. I am digressing.

There is a face-lift coming, but I don't think this is exactly it. The brochure says hybrid on the bottom. Those fogs don't look right to me. I can see a new design to the headlights, a more prominent grille, fogs yes. But something more than this.

Those aren't the fog lights, as they are barely visible in the picture. I think you're looking at the turn signals.
