Default Thumping at higher speeds through gas pedal when accelerating

    Hey guys,

Simple problem. I feel a pulsing through the gas pedal when accelerating at higher speeds. I can also feel it if I floor it and shift from say 3rd into 4th on a highway on-ramp. From my research people who have a similar problem say it's likely motor mounts. I have stock psm and dsm but a jbr 88 rear mm. Do you guys think it could be the stock mounts that have taken a dump? Or is it possibly other stuff. Car has approx. 285k km on it.

    Thanks,
    eric

285k? Yup, very likely they shit the bed. Either post pictures so we can confirm or take it to a mech to replace. Simple job to do by yourself if you want to save some money.

Probably passenger side mount...they're known to go.

The passenger side doesn't look torn or damaged from the top and I can't see the driver side without removing battery etc. I have noticed a few drop spots on the driveway that are fairly fresh and aren't drying up so they must be an oil, and I'm thinking it's from the driver side mount. I have no trouble doing the work myself, as it's the greatest pleasure of owning a car for me. Since i already have the 88duro tmm, would it be fine to go softer for the other 2? I don't need to pretend I'm in a racecar and ruin my spine from having all 88duro hah.

I'll have to check more thoroughly from underneath when doing an oil change soon, but I think it might actually be the driver side mount as I noticed some fluid spots on the driveway that seem to line up roughly with that mount's position.

Drivers side mount (transmission mount) isn't oil filled, only passenger side.

Then I hope it's the passenger mount dripping, or perhaps I'm just too sloppy when topping off the oil haha. Either way I hoped to change the mounts when I could afford it and that time might be coming up soon. Especially if they are putting the engine in a dangerous situation.
