Default BOM quoted $160 of labour to the black rubber piece in the gear indicator

As stated in the title, Mazda of Brampton verbally quoted $160 only for labour to replace the black rubber strip under the auto gear indicator. I spilled pop, so the rubber got sticky. Went home, found a You Tube instruction video, removed the rubber, washed and put it back in 15 minutes. It is entirely possible that they made a genuine mistake in estimating labour hours. Thank God for You Tube!

Probably not. They just quoted you that because they are a dealership.

I have gotten some stuff done at Mazda of Brampton and from what I have seen their labour rate is somewhere around $100. I bought my 2015 2.5 GT from there. So this is a first. Who did you get that estimate from?

Sounds about right, the part plus labour, the hourly rate can be up to and more than $140, they will charge .8, 1.0 or 1.2 hrs for the job who knows, you made the right choice though, id only use the dealership for bigger jobs for perfection and hold them to it
