Default Dealerships and Older Model 3's

I'm looking to purchase a pre-owned 3 Sport, as my Protégé has turned into a money pit, so am looking for something in the Gen 1 style, ideally 2007-2009. Now I know my Protégé has pretty much zero trade-in value, so I am looking for the car at a dealership, and am wondering if any of them even still sell them certified? I've only been able to track down one so far, at Gyro. If a dealership does have one for sale, will it be listed on their web site? Or will I just have to visit in person? Also, what kind of price drop can I expect on 14's once the 17's hit the floors? Thanks.

Nice 07-09's are hard to come by and go fast. What kind of transmission do you need?

I'm looking for an automatic, and yes, that's what I've come to learn, that they're still pretty popular.

We do have some lenders that may go for a lesser loan. We would apply with the details to see if they'll go for it. Depends on the car and credit history.

I will keep my eye out for something suitable.

Ah, ok, I wasn't aware of that, good to know, thanks. It may come down to a 2010-13 then. Also, will prices come down on the 14's when the 17's arrive? And if so, by what % approx.? Thanks again.

Pre-owned pricing will always be in line with mileage, condition, equipment and year. If another year passes they may come down a bit but they are still pretty rare.

May I suggest a 2012 or newer. That way the car is a Certified Per-Owned offring you extended warranty, roadside assistance and lower financing rates.

Lets say there is a 2011 for $1000 less. It seems like a good deal until the rates. You can get rates from 0.9, 1.9 to 2.9 and 3.9 on CPO cars. You'll end up saving that extra dough on interest charges.

I have a really nice 2012 GS-Sky sedan coming in with about 80k. It'll go for $12,888. Bought here. Serviced here. Finished in Aluminum Metallic. Its not online yet.

I also have a 2015 GX Sedan in White with 59k. That will be in the $15-16k range.

Excellent info. So I c&P'd this from a dealer website: "ELIGIBLE VEHICLES:

All pre-owned Mazda vehicles originally imported by Mazda Canada Inc. for sale in Canada that are 5 model years or newer with 120,000 kilometres or less (currently 2009 vehicles) qualify until our model year change period on July 1, 2014"

So going by this, does this mean a 2011 now falls outside the CPO eligibility? And thus why you're recommending a 2012 or newer? Btw, I'm seeking a Sport. Thanks again for the info, it's much appreciated!

You can still get a line of credit through your bank to purchase a vehicle sold privately. Works basically the same.
