    Post 3rd Gen Mazda 3 Stereo/ Screen Question

    Hey TM3,

    I am currently looking for a used 3rd gen mazda 3 (2014-2016) for a decent deal. The ones that catch my eyes with low kms, do not have the touch screen system but rather they have the ugly dial one like this; http://assets.clickmotive.com/ail/st...st0640_059.jpg

    Now my question is would I be able to buy the screen that come in the touring edition and put it in the base version to get something like this;

    Or if not, is there any aftermarket ones that may work?

    Much appreciated

    There are aftermarket ones available on ebay (for example) but anytime I've seen someone asks about it on fb this one guy goes on and on about Mazda Connect being an issue. Unfortunately no one has ever comeback to say that they did it but I have seen it mention that you will need a harness, commander switch and all the wiring which at that point makes it not worth the hassle.

    Here's a good thread to find third gen owners that might be able to help... http://www.torontomazda3.ca/forum/sh...ext+generation

    Best of luck on the future purchase!

    Hey... I also was in this situation. I bought the base model mazda and wanted to upgrade the audio system. The cheap eBay units were never an option for me. So had to think outside the box. The Kenwood KOS-V1000
    integration Module was one option. Can be used with a Kenwood touch screen or with any screen with the KOS-CV100 converter. I do a lot of out of town driving for work so a navigation system was the most important thing I needed. I went with a VDO Dayton nav system and used the video input to also add the Garmin GVN nav system with the traffic module. I'll be adding a sub later.
