    Sizing of the vehicle.
    Q80=Suburban
    Q60=fancier Pathfinder
    Q50 & Q70 have the same engine but the Q70 is much heavier and looks better IMO
    Q30 is the smallest = Cx3~ish but slightly larger

    Well that complicates things, the Lexus dealer just sent me a price for 8k off MSRP with all the discounts for a fully loaded F Sport 3 trim...makes the Tacoma not all that much cheaper at all.

    - 2021 Porsche Macan GTS -
    - 2016 Lexus NX200t F Sport -
    - 2010 Mazdaspeed 3 Black Mica - SOLD -

    Do eeeeeeetttt

    Seems like a happy compromise? If you don't explicitly need the truck the road manners will be better for sure.

    It's certainly a nice looking vehicle, I've been picking them out of traffic here and there since seeing your thread.

    Those 2 vehicles are obviously nothing alike

    Either you want a car, truck or an SuV. It's all for a different purpose and a different lifestyle. Sort out that first and the right car will come naturally

    So true, they're not usually cross shopped at all but both would work. I want something that delivers power to all 4 wheels and has ground clearance because winter driving sucks in a car (even though I've never had issues getting around in my MS3). SUV's and Trucks both suffice for that and are better for trips on the highway and better on shitty roads and are more comfortable and all sorts of things. Sadly neither are performance vehicles...the Tacoma has a bit more power but the Lexus does drive better.

    I also drove a highlander today, was a nice ride and quiet but way too big boaty, it's out.

    I'm just rambling now.

    Would question, get the Macan (but then I'm biased!)
    Seriously, coming from a MS3, if you don't have a fun toy as a 3rd car or a fun daily driver, you will go nuts!! You will sell said un-fun truck in maybe a year, lose money, and buy a sports car / sporty SUV.
    Would I own the Macan out of warranty? no way - but that's what trade-ins are for.

    Here's how I look at it:

    You (and don't take this the wrong way) don't seem like you would need a truck. You have a brand new house and it's unlikely that you'll need to do any renovations for at least 10 years. So, unless you have a trailer that needs towing, or a dirt bike or a toy to put in the bed, you'll probably be fine with an SUV. If you're considering a trailer, whether it's for a boat, a camper, or to haul other toys around, then go for a truck without a doubt.

    Well that's that...I bought the Lexus NX 200t F Sport 3 in black with red leather interior. Is a 2016 so there was a pile of discounts, just made the most sense all factors considered until I can afford a Porsche with cash. Delivery is next Saturday.

    The question is what to get....front runners are in the poll. I'd honestly rather spend less money than the Macan but it's like all the good things about the speed 3 in AWD/SUV/PDK goodness. Taco is an interesting off shoot but I'm not sure how I feel about dailying a truck. Lexus is just the boring but responsible/reliable choice.

    Criteria:
    - Reliable
    - Daily driveable year round including winter but will be low mileage (my commute is 7km one way)
    - Good performance (I can't handle driving anything that is over 8 seconds to 60, less than 7 seconds is ideal)
    - Not overly big
    - Automatic/Dual Clutch, not another manual
    - More comfortable and grown up than my MS3
    - New, not used
    I've been highly considering the BMW M240i and meets all your requirements.

    The ratings are really high on it and personally think it looks really nice (I prefer the blue) and is definitely more grown up.

    I've not yet had a chance to dive one but all my father in law buys is BMWs (last 30 years) and I've never seen him have an issue and quality is quite nice.

    (Sorry sent this before seeing that you kind of looking at an SUV style car. I prefer the look and size of the X5 over the X3 but that might be too much size for what you wanted.)

    (Double edit: I should have read the whole thread Nice looking car!)
