    Question Wrapping Tail Lights?

    Hey everyone,

Got a quote for 225 + HST for a rear tail light wrap. This sound reasonable? Anyone able to mention a cheaper shop with quality production or is this very reasonable?

    Thanks.

Have you checked with WrapID or Auto Links ? Both are forum sponsors that might perform the service. Worth checking pricing with those shops.

Small guys starting off the wrapping business usually does it for around 80 bucks - atleast for the speed3.

Also the price depends on the brand of film they use.

I believe auto links is charging $150 for 2nd gen taillights at leadt that's what they've quoted me for and they do a quality job. Didn't donit yet cause I have other plans but if ever I will pursue doing it will definitely go to autolinks.

Would still love a recommendation on this... a few places quoted me 80, but if anyone knows a perfect place to go with results, please send it my way!

I got mine done at restyleit and I'm pretty sure the price I paid was cheaper than what you were quoted but keep it mind it was a couple years ago so prices may have changed. They did a really good job with it and still holding up strong till this day.

Apparently it is discontinued... So they can't perform the job!

They did tell me it was a pain in the bum crease to do mazda lights probably because of the the weird styling of the tail lights. Good luck with your search!

Just make sure that the wrap doesn't reduce tail lights visibility.

As noted in the General section under Tuner:

    LIGHTS (HID’S, COLOR, OUTPUT, ECT..)

Light requirement (sect 62 para 4)
    (4) Any lamp required under subsection (1), (2) or (3) shall, when lighted, be clearly visible at a distance of at least 150 metres from the front or rear, as the case may be.
    - Tinted tail lights? Make sure they’re visible from at least 150m.

I'm actually thinking about wrapping mine light smoke (from eBay). Had VHT nightshades before, but got tired of the blacked out look, so took them off and ruined by taillights in the process (lesson learned, avoid VHT at all costs, it's a pain to remove and you might end up ruining the finish if you're not careful). They're GT tailights too lol, pretty exp to replace, might check out some wreckers for a bargain.
