    Default Question - Auto Adjuster

Apologies for my lack of knowledge within this area, but as noted, i was rear ended on friday. I got the car towed back to my house since i wanted a few things to part out. The auto adjuster is coming on tuesday to appraise my car and i was wondering since my car is a GT model, will swapping out the leather seats with my old GS lower the appraisal value of my car?? i already did this on saturday, but someone mentioned to me that may influence what the adjuster values my car for. Just want some clarification if anyone knows. Last but not least, the tires i have on are brand new winters on after market rims, will swapping this out with my worn oem summer rims / tires deem my 'winter tire discount' invalid from my insurance company and cause issues? Or can i freely just swap them out?

    any help is appreciated.

Adjuster wise, leave the winters on until they come see it. Might give you shit that they are changed. When they write it off, you can swap the tires back. People do it all the time. I got a 2014 in that someone was racing. and it has 2 jeep rims on the back, 2 steelies on the front, one with a white wall.

Leather shouldn't matter, your vin should come up with leather though. So he might question it, but you can just say I had to switch them because the leather seats were ruined.

You really shouldn't touch anything on the vehicle when dealing with insurance.

    What Someguy said...

If it were me I'd put the leather back in and leave the car, other than any aftermarket stuff you can put back to stock and have fully functional (like removing your roof rack).

Don't pull your winters, it's what makes your discount valid and it may cause grounds for cancellation if they're not on the car. If the wheels / tires are brand new furnish the receipts in your counter offer to raise the value of your buyout.

It's not only the winters I'm concerned about, it's also my after market rims that I want to keep. I read online that these guys may take pictures once they evaluate it so if I swap them out after he leaves won't he question it? I'm really debating on swapping them out before he gets here tomorrow. These aren't OEM parts, shouldnt it be the same applied to after market radio systems provided you can replace it? I know different situations since I only have one set of winters.. however I can prove to them I had winters on through receipts?

Solved. Just called my insurance company. Noted that I can infact swap them out before the adjuster gets here tomorrow for anyone who experiences this in the future.

When my Protege5 was written off, the adjuster let me have at it before it was towed.
