    Default Speed3 heated/pwr seats

I recently picked up a set of power heated seats from a 2013 Speed3. However, there's a small issue of the connectors on the bottom of the seat. I have the wiring harness, which appears to have a bunch of the same wires, and a few wires that are slightly different/missing.

Seats are going into a 2011 mazda3 No options on the seats, just air bag, seat belt and seat sensor.

New seats have 2 connectors, one for air bag, one for everything else.

I checked the wiring on the switches to match them up to the connector on the bottom of the seats, and everything appears to be in order except for a few small things.

Has anyone done this swap before? Everything seems to be wired up except for these 2 bigger wires that i can't seem to get an answer on.

Can provide pics upon request, they are a little tough to get up on here.

ive ruled out the air bag harness, and that doesn't seem to be an issue to wire up. the rest i'm a little worried that they changed the wiring.

    Thanks in advance.

Does your seatbelt light function properly? I know switching from manual to power mine didn't work properly, I had to switch to my original buckles to get the seatbelt light to stay off.

thats a REALLY good question. I honestly have no clue! And the only reason why i really don't know is because i don't have a battery in the car right now I'm hoping to get the car wired up this weekend. Gonna go find that grey cable you mentioned in the other thread, and run my ground hopefully tomorrow. From what i can tell, as long as i get my hands on a 2011+ seatbelt i should be okay. Apparently the 2010 model had different ones. Or this is what i found on multiple websites....

Once its done and everything is working, i'll be doing a write up on how to get them installed start to finish

So, ends up the power wire wasn't in the driver kick panel, but i do see where it hooks up to the harness. (or at least i think i know.)

It appears to be the 2nd harness connector from the bottom floor pan right? I see the grey wire going up to that connector, but nothing past it. I assume i'm going to need the mating connector pin and shove it into that connector. Since that's what looks like is going to happen, i'm going to grab that part of the harness from the speed3 and hook it up over the weekend. Going to fire it up and get the seats fully swapped.

I don't remember if it was the second connector or not, been a while since I've had the drivers kick panel out. But it's a thicker grey wire that doesn't have anything connected to it. You could also take that grey wire out of the connector, and just hook the wire up to it there. I added it because I had a donor car laying around at work, but if I didn't, i would have just added the wire onto the wire before the plug.

Awesome, sounds like i'm on the right path!

I just got myself the crimp tool, connnectors and a new wire running up to the other harness. I'll have a full detailed walk through for those interested in doing the same swap!

This is the wiring before being thrown back together.

I added the wire through the plug, then grounded the seat to itself.

I used the original airbag wire connected to the connector from the floor, and soldered the plug from power seats onto it

And I used the original seatbelt buckle (10-11 and 12-13 are different sizes of clasp in buckle)

You're just lucky I did it before and I had the resources and shop to do it when I did the swap. Haha. Now my car has power seats from factory, those are just the seats in my old car.

So after doing some intense digging, and actually pulling everything apart, we swapped the seats yesterday.

    We have 2 problems.

Code 16 air bag light, passenger side air bag won't turn on (i think its disabled due to the code 16)

We double checked all the wiring, we got the air bag right, we got the seat belt correct as well.
we swapped the little black control box under the passenger seat
    Nothing seemed to change this.

We took a further look and found that the track sensor on the OEM seat, didnt match (and physically wasn't there) on the speed3 seat. Connecting it made no difference either.

Is it possible that we just need to calibrate the seats with the sensors? I'm not sure exactly what the next step is at this point.

    Thanks!
