Default 2005 Mazda 3 Sport GT RPM Issue

I have a 2005 Mazda 3 2.3l Hatch and it has 145km on it now. Prior to the issue I currently have the car had a very low idle and would want to shut off due to such low idle. I had the spark plugs replaced and now the idle is fine.

Now when I'm coasting at around 50-60 when i release my foot off the acceleration the car will attempt to dip below 1000rpm and then up to 1500rpm and will continue to do so. So for soome type of example it will be 1000-1500-1000-1500-1000. All this while not pressing on the acceleration.

I've been doing some research and people have been saying it is the mass air flow sensor, throttle body, spark plugs, and possible the purge valve. I cleaned out the Mass air flow sensor and wiped out the throttle body with nothing helping. Just wondering if anyone else had this problem and has advice on what I should do or even the possible remedy. Thank-You.

try disconnecting the battery and let your car relearn.
Its also possible that you put a bad gas, so next time you fill up try to go until empty before putting new gas.
If its still doesnt work, take it to jimmy

I have near the same problem with a 2005 2.0L, disconnected the battery, welded on a new pair of rocker panels, re-learned the computer by letting it idle for 20 minutes and then another 15 with the a/c on and it seemed to work fine. The RPM now is doing a pendulum effect when you put the clutch in after rolling with it, no check engine lights and runs completely normal otherwise. I am thinking that it could be coking on the throttle plate and a dirty Idle Air Control otherwise I am lost, any other ideas?

I would clean your MAF sensor and your throttle body. I know the throttle bodies on our cars get pretty gummed up. I clean mine annually.

I rest the ECU but ill try it once more before I finally take it to jimmy.

Yes the RPM is doing a pendulum effect from 1000-1500 while coasting. Also I forgot the mention the the car is automatic. No check engine lights but ill check the IAC to see if it need's a cleaning. Does the fact that its an auto could possible mean its a transmission issue?

I just cleaned the MAF with that crc cleaner from Canadian Tire. The throttle body I was only able to access the plate from the duct to give that a wipe I'll possibly do a full clean.

Thank's for all the replies people. I'll give more updates if I do anymore work or what jimmy will quote.
