    Default Ms3 bose retrofit

I own an 2007 ms3 non bose and unfortunately my friend totalled his 2006 mazda 3 with the bose system. Now he offers me for free whatever I need for installing the bose into mine.So does anyone know what I need to remove from his car , except the obvious head unit speakers amp and sub..

Don't bother. Its not worth the effort as the Bose System sounds like shite anyways.

This. I have the Bose in my car and it sucks. No highs, no lows, must be Bose.

(my dad's 14 CX5 does sound better though)

I see...I thought being free it would be a nice extra to have. But if it is so much trouble then I'll pass.
Just for the info, the difficult part is the difference in the wiring?I must cut and solder them?

It's not that it's necessarily hard, it's that the system isn't really an improvement. Even if it were plug and play, I would not devote even a tiny iota of energy to it.

Just get a deck, sub, amp and 4 decent speakers. 10x better than Bose.

I am not really into sound systems..Even the stock non bose doesn't bother me.The only reason I thought of transplanting it into my car was just for a free "extra".As far as I can understand even if I remove the wiring which goes to the bose speakers - amp - sub I wouldn't be able to just plug it into my car's wiring?

I'm not sure if your car would have the amp wiring under the seat to make it "plug" in so essentially you'd have to make a harness of some sort.

I made one basically hijack the bose outputs with my 4ch, I could dig up the plug I used (some ford GPS plug repinned IIRC).

If you have the time, and desire, and it's free I suppose its a sideways upgrade. I imagine the best part would potentially be the 6 disc with OEM aux?

It has an amp under the seat, and maybe extra speakers? Can't remember for a first gen. but you'd need to steal the harnesses in the floor, and at least to the doors if not the door harness too.

As far as I have checked his car but without taking it apart I can see the sub and amp under driver and passenger seats the bose 6 discs changer and I know that it has the same number but different speakers.
Now from just checking my mps under seat I can't see any wiring which isn't in use so I assume I don't have it.My worry is how much work it is to connect the extra sub amp and speakers wiring into mine. Also I think I read somewhere that I can't even use the bose 6 disc headunit without the bose speakers??

Hmm yeah the Bose unit might not actually have a buiilt in amp which means it couldn't drive the speakers. And If I recall the bose speakers are a weird impedance (3ohm maybe)
