Default 2005 Mazda 3 window regulator or something else?

Yes, my Mazda3 with just over 100K is starting to show it's age, like me. Just the other day, I went to press the switch to roll down my driver's window and it didn't work. I tried a few more times and it did.

Later that evening it did the same thing but there was more of a delay between the time I pressed the switch and the time the window moved up or down.

As there was no noise, I am thinking of getting someone other than a dealership to fix this, but I would need to buy the part. However, I don't know what might need replacing. I guess that's the advantage of going to the dealer, they will go through troubleshooting and then find the true cause. Just wondering on everyone's thoughts or who have had this problem.

The main window switches are know to fail. They are about $170ish from the dealer.

It sounds definitely like the switch. Had mine go a while back also.

You can purchase the switch at the dealer or just go to a wreckers and save some money. The switch itself is extremely easy to replace also, no need for a mechanic. You only need a flat head screwdriver and you can find videos on YouTube showing how its done.

It's still the BN8F-66-350A part number for the first Gen.

I literally had this exact issue almost a month ago. The window would have a mind of its own and roll up whenever it wanted but would roll down almost every time. I just replaced the window switch panel attached to the armrest and all my issues were resolved.
Modifications: Mazdaspeed3 rear sway bar, AWR rear motor mount, Raceland coils, Konig Illusion 18x8 wheels with +45 offset, Corksport cat-back exhaust with Vibrant 4-2-1 header, Corksport short ram intake, Stage 3 clutch, Angel eyes with HIDs, Mazdaspeed3 interior swap with LED interior bulbs, Mazdaspeed3 spoiler and sideskirts and drilled/slotted rotors

    Boosted soon
