So from past experience I already knew to be wary of the Service Advisor's "advice" at this establishment. But now we've hit a new low.
I took the car in for an oil change a while back. Service advisor indicated I had about 2mm left on the rear brake pads and recommended replacement, which I declined as I typically have non-warranty work done at an independent.
On the invoice for the oil change, I later noticed an entry stating brake service was recommended and pads were at 3mm. That's a 50% increase ha ha.
Anyway, 5 months and 7,000km later I take the car to my preferred shop and mention the rear pads might need to be changed.
Mechanic calls me over to the service bay and lo and behold, pads are measured at >4mm right before my eyes. 100% increase!
Clearly these are magic pads that actually grow with use. At this rate, my pads will be at 6mm come next oil change. Amazing!
