Default Ignition trigger source in engine bay?

Installed some leds in the lower bumper openings of my 2013 M3 Sky.

I used an auto relay that is currently using the low beams as the trigger to turn the LEDs on. However, I would like to have them on all the time when the ignition is on. If I could somehow hook up two triggers (one from low and one from high beam), then that would solve my problem. But that seems to be a complicated process involving two relays and a diode. Even then, the issue is when high beams are used, both low and high are on at the same time, which could cause a short.

I have tried various wires in the engine bay fuse box to find an IGN only wire, but I am not having any luck. Spare slots and even the fuses get constant power.

Also, I do not want to run a trigger wire from the engine bay into the cabin and have to deal with getting through the firewall.

Has anyone found an IGN wire in the engine bay, hopefully without having to tear apart a major wire harness or anything?

    Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, a lot of the 'switched' loads are inside the driver knee fuse panel. You could tap off of the fuel pump relay for a load that's 'IGN ON'. I'd just recommend putting a diode in reverse bias to act as spike supression so as to protect the fuel pump. Similarly, you could use any of the relays (HVAC etc) of a less critical circuit to accomplish the same thing.

I used the eng ing fuse. But it stays on a bit after the car is turned off. There isn't a really good one out there. Your best bet is to go from the inside and run it through the firewall out.
