    Question Knight Sport Spoiler

I'm trying to install a knight sport spoiler on my Mazda 3 sport 2018 but when I brought it to a body shop they said that the oem rear lip that it would be sitting on in the picture would be too unstable to support the weight of the spoiler. Does anyone have experience installing this spoiler and have any tips?

Can you post a pic of what the mounting points are on the underside of the KS? The OEM part is pretty damn secure, I'm surprised that they would say that - none of these aftermarket body kit pieces weight more than 5lbs.

I can take a picture but there are 2 holes (4 in total) on each mounting point and they are both on the outer part of the body which is plastic. The inner part is metal but he thinks there's no holes because that part of the spoiler is thinner and thus probably not reenforced with metal inside. I'll take a picture later today. Since I'm not at home

Sounds good! I removed the OEM one so I can snap a pic of what the underside of that looks like and then I'm sure a good/secure way to mount the KS can be figured out

Looking really good! I have the same spoiler and I'm currently looking for a body shop to professionally install it for me. Where did you take yours?

I am putting one of these on too. Just ready to paint. Did the body shop use the existing mounting points and use the plastic OEM spoiler or did they make new mounting points so it could be mounted to the metal as well? If they just used the plastic piece, is it secure? I am planning on using 3M moulding tape as well.

To my knowledge he made one new set of mounting point for the metal as well. I'm not sure if he used mounting tape but he went around edge where the spoiler meets the car with sealant. Still holding up well even after the winter.

Thanks. That's what I'm going to do. I mocked it up the other day and it just won't fit tight without mounting to the metal.
