    Default Maintenance schedule

Just curious about maintenance intervals, the owners manual really doesn't specify . My 2011 MS3 currently has 92,xxx k on it . I change the oil every 8k with penzoil platinum and either an oem or napa gold filter. I have no mods on it . With my previous cars I have always changed the timing belt between 100k-130k . My MS3 is the first car I've owned with a timing chain . At what time do I get the chain inspected? I notice no chain chatter on cold starts the car runs very smooth. Is there anything I can do besides oil changes for preventative maintenance?

Imo, if you have no mods and don't beat the crap out of her, I wouldn't worry about the timing chain. They are built pretty tough. Many have two to three times your mileage with no issues.

I've put 200k on my OEM timing chain and it was still good. Usually as it wears you'll hear the chain slap against the guard in the valve cover.
