Default Nappa Brake Pads for $47.48 Good or Garbage?

My son is away at college and saying he thinks he needs brake pads on his 2010 Mazda3 Sport GX with 77,000kms. He will be home later today so I've been calling around for prices and availability. He is only home for the weekend so I have to go with what is on hand locally. Below are my options and Nappa is a lot cheaper! The lady at Nappa told me they are ceramic, just as good as OEM and will last as long. I am skeptical so thought I would ask if anyone here has tried them. Thank you for any input.

    Nappa:
    -FRONT $47.48
    -REAR $47.48

    Canadian Tire:
-FRONT $65.99 (OE Spec Wagner) - $70.39 (Motomaster OE Plus - 25% off now)
    -REAR $62.99 - $66.39

    Mazda Dealer OEM:
    -FRONT $167
    -REAR $141.74

I put Napa Ceramic pads on my wifes Corolla over 4 years ago (along with new rotors) and no problems at all. I like that the pads don't dirty up the wheels like metallic pads do.

Also, Napa has 3 lines of parts: ones that are cheapest (proformer), their OE equivalent(premium) and top of the line (ultra premium).
Go on their website and get pricing to see if they offered any discount from list prices.

I got the Ultra Premium rotors and UP ceramic pads. At the time I think I payed $140ish (I get a discount off list @ corporate store). I put them on myself so I spent a little more. I don't like to cheap out on these types of things and put a life in jeopardy.

Thanks again. $140 for all 4 sets or just 2 sets of pads? I went on Nappa's site and there are "31 products that MAY fit your Mazda3". My son should be home soon so I will look at the brakes and see what I am up against.

go with Max Advanced brakes. You can get a 4 slotted/cross drilled and coated rotors and front and back ceramic pads for $170 shipped to your door.

Got them and installed it in my wife's 3 for almost 3 months and they work great. I know a bunch of people here use them as well

I would honestly go for maxx breaks full kit (pads & rotors). Great quality since they're made in Canada. I must say they perform really well considering the price.

Last I heard they still don't have the Brake kits for the 2015 MZ3 model , but give them a call tomorrow to be sure.

Bought the Elite XDS full kit 2 years ago. Other then periodic squeal here and there, they are working great. I've put 50k on these and they still look new in pad life and rotor condition, with slightly better braking power then OE.

Warning! I've also found these ceramic pads seem a little hard, and you need to 'ride' them a tad first thing, (If starting Cold) when conditions are wet, damp, or very cold to heat them up....Otherwise no issues.

That was for two front rotors and four pads.

I have not find yet good and cheap rotors and pads , cheap yes but aren't good , good yes but are not cheap . Make your call . RockAuto , Centric PosiQuiet , look for those , better than max brakes for sure .
