    Default Zoom Zoom Boom

Hey guys unfortunately I've fallen victim to the blown motor last week. If anybody is interested in a donor car for parts ive got one. Its a CWP gen 1 with 230km new tires last spring, just did brakes all the way around (rotors and pads) Cobb intake(installed), and a Cobb short shifter and RMM never installed and syill in the box. Tried using the car as part of a trade in and they didnt want it. Its got some surface rust in a couple spots on the hood and roof from stone chips but fairly clean. Rebuild for me is not an option, going to step up to a family vehicle now

How much are you looking to get for it? I'd be interested in helping with a full part out (ie will offer my garage/time to tear down the entire vehicle).

I’s show up for that. Might be a few parts worth grabbing if we do the work! Esp trim panels etc.

I honestly have no idea on a price but more than the 250 they offered me. I feel there is some value left in the car.

You can part out the car and see if you clear more than $250, if the engine doesn't have a hole in it you will make some money on that + the turbo.

How did the engine go? What year is the car?

You won't get a lot for the car as a whole but parting out then scrapping the shell can make some $$ back.

Sorry the car is a 8.5, and went while driving into work. Just normal driving and went to pass someone and heard a bang, engine started vibrating hard and engine light started flashing. Took it in and the say there is no compression in cylinder 3, metal shavings in the oil and turbo went too. Havnt gotten the full report yet, I go back in tomorrow to get the full scoop.

Yeah, so you probably blew a rod in cylinder 3. Head might still be okay but block is likely toast.

Convenient that you're in Waterloo and the car is at Heffner Toyota...that's very close to me (I'm in Kitchener).

Do you want to part the car out? I'd have a few stipulations around it but would be happy to do it with you. PM if you're interested and I can send you my number and we can discuss.

I’d be interested in this too. I have a 06 MZ3 and I’m looking for some Speed3 parts. Let us know what you decide to do. Take care and sorry to hear what happened

How much do you usually see blown engine MS3's at auction for?

I'm interested in the seats if they're in nice condition, and a few interior things.

This story is why I got annoyed at my wife not understanding why I was itching to get a new car. That turbo engine was always a question mark whether you'd be lucky and never have a problem till it rust out, of if it goes on you suddenly.

In the end the AC clutch and s-belt developed some weirdness and noise. I never seek to find out exactly what the problem was or how much it cost to fix and just traded the speed 3 in (and they gave me 6k for it, which was really close to black book). Now in one of the last V6 accords, it's no sports car but it's good enough and have enough power to pass. Liking the lower noise level a lot more (I like my tunes and the speed was just bad for music at highway speeds). Surprisingly, unlike a lot of people I actually found that driving manual in traffic (other then actual stop and go) to be more annoying with an auto. Overall a much more civilized drive in the accord. Even when you have your foot in it and you know the tests results suggest that it actually is as fast if not faster than the speed 3 in acceleration, it still feel calm and relaxed.

And whoever else...but ya, we've got the suspension, drivetrain, etc pulled...a lot of it's still at my house. Engine was gone, no compression but looks like a broken valve (the actual valve itself) along with maybe rings...but block/head themselves are good. So anyone need an engine core?

Stock...but they were brand new basically (although have some surface rust from sitting before we started part out).
