    Nice to see everybody here...

I am still driving my 2008 hatchback ~ original engine and tranny. Hit 190k last month, just have the 3rd set of 4 season tires on, stickers on the side changed to the second set, lol. Major repairs included shocks, all 4 shocks replaced and included one shock mount for the rear left wheel. Engine mount replaced years ago. Oh, just replaced the belts.

Started to have obvious rust on the fenders and underneath... This is the major concern I have right now that affecting the life of my M3... ( Remember this joke years ago?! What are you driving? Oh, just a normal family car, a M3... )

Broke my rear bumper the other day and needed replacement which brought me back here to see if anyone had anything. No luck lol

I have my gen 1 still - selling off some parts - getting ready to move on from it soon. Will have to go see Jeff @ MOT soon

I'm at 210k and use it to drive to the office and back, that's it pretty much.

There should be a gen1 mazda 3 meet. Imagine a parking lot full of rusty mazda 3's.

I was a lurker here before currently 200k on my mazda3. Since the rust started on my car It got neglected never really cared about scratches anymore. Theres a perk on having an old car. less headache on how it looks anymore.

This is like a reunion of old timers..

I'm still around, but not much on the forums these days. Gen1 MS3 is gone, sadly... Although my phone wallpaper still shows the gen1.

Heck, even my signatures here and profile photo are of the gen1. SIGH....

    Fun idea.
There should be cool prizes for:
    Most rust
    Least rust
    Most neglected
    Best repair job
    Highest HP on a dyno
    Most original parts

wow blast from the past here guys. I figured I should contribute since I have a funny story. My dad drives my 3 around now. Purple accents and all. The best is the TM3 Ladies sticker still attached to the back windshield as a 62 year old man gets into it on a daily basis.

My daily driver now is a 2014 Mazda CX5. Bought it early 2014. Love that thing. So still part of the Mazda family.

@Fuman -Are you talking to me? If you are here's how I've done it; Krowned every year and from day one, (Literally the first day I had it). I also have a can of Krown formula which I spray prone areas periodically, and also any gaps between metal and plastic panels. I keep her clean as much as possible and well waxed.

Actually as of this past winter I do have some rust showing, rust bubbles on the B-pillars of all places.

You're the only one I heard of with no rust. Actually spraying Krown formula is a smart idea! Going to use that one.

    Yes, Winning Blue.

I actually have no rust. Well, not that I can see anyways. I have no idea why. It sees it's fair share of snow and rain. I got my car oil sprayed at Krown every year for the first 6 or 7 years.

    OG checking in

Thanks omalak for starting this thread.

It’s been quite awhile since I’ve been on this forum. Brings back really good memories... I hope everyone is living life to its fullest.

I enjoyed the conversions, tips and tricks on everything related to my Mazda 3 on this forum. This was and continues to be a great community.

It was my first car and still going strong! 2007 GT with 245k baby! Purchase new in November 2006.
