Default P0301 Cylinder 1 misfire Detected.

Got off the 401 today and the car started to chugg in gear. Idle is rough.
Flashing CEL turns solid after a while: P0301 Cylinder 1 misfire Detected

1st thoughts are check spark plugs & coils.

    Edit: quick search:
    Spark plug malfunction
    Ignition system malfunction
    Fuel injector malfunction
Air suction in intake air system (between dynamic chamber and cylinder head)
Inadequate engine compression due to engine internal malfunction
    Related connector or terminal malfunction
    Related wiring harness malfunction

I'm going to call Jimmy in the morning and arrange a time to bring it in as I'm swamped at work.

I find most often when it is a flashing CEL with a cylinder misfire it is spark related. Hopefully you can fix it.

Went to replace the #1 spark plug and it was under 1/2" of water. The coil pack was were too. I Didn't remove the plug, soaked up the water with shop towel.

Ill be taking it to jimmy.

Ice buildup + hot engine = evopration. Water pooled atop cylinder 1 around the sparkplug submerging it. Coil pack #1 is toast as it was sitting in the water.

Swapped all plugs (overdue) and moved coil #1 to #3 per Jimmy's advice. #3 cylinder then Misfires...

I'll pick up a new part tomorrow when MOT is open.

Moral of the story is F*** winter and Jimmy knows all.

its weird how water got on top of your engine past the giant cover that sits on top of it.
