Default How to buy a car without plates?

    Hello,

This would be a longer post... I would appreciate any feedback, since I'd like to upgrade my wife's 2007 to a newer, 2014-ish used 3.

I found a used GS hatch, from 2014, with 138k km. It's a private sale, there are no plates on the car. The price seems right (about $10k), here is the link: https://www.autotrader.ca/a/mazda/ma...200V7&sprx=100. Seems clean, accident-free. How can I take this to my mechanic to get it checked out? Do you think it's worth to get such a high-mileage car? My budget is around $10k, I'm set on a white hatch

My wife's 2007 GS needs an A/C compressor (about $1k), some front suspension work, and rust is starting to show up (no wonder!). Otherwise it's in a good shape (new brakes last, year, new battery, fixed exhaust, reliable, fairly clean). What would be a fair price to ask? It's at 200k km right now, manual GS sedan.

    Thanks!

You'd need to have it towed to/from the mechanic or bring the mechanic to the car.

Bought a car with similar mileage, depends how long you'll want to keep it.
Just get a mech to come out to the car.

Higher mileage isn't always a bad thing on a 2014 car. It was most likely highway driven which are easy kms.

How much would be reasonable to offer to a dealership for a CPO for example, I found a few nice ones in Jeff's backyard (Mazda of Toronto), but they go for about $13-$14k. I would be more comfortable buying from there, however the price difference is pretty big...
