Mazda 3 Auto Transmission Oil Pan Question

I have a 2010 Mazda 3, I think it is a GS (Not sure as the registrations says M3I, not sure what this is) and my insurance crd says it is a GX/GS/I/S 4D. I do know it is a 2.0 L. My transmission pan is rusted through and weeping fluid. It is an AT. I can get a used 2008 Mazda 3 pan from my pull a part scrapyard but not sure if it will fit. It lookss a bit differnt as it has a drain plug at the rear lip and not like the 2010 model. online it says they 2008 and 2010 take the same Gasket for the Transmission pan so I am asuming they should fit that way. Anyone know if it will fit or if one from another Mazda or a Ford (as the Mazda 3 AND fORD FOCUS are based on the same frame I think. Thanks appreciate any info

the 04-09 2.0s have a 4 speed auto, but all of the 2010-2013 have 5 speeds... so, if you want to get a pan off a 1st gen, you better be looking for one from an 06-09 2.3l, as they have the same 5 speed auto... the pans are interchangeable between the two.... if you find a 2.0l, they are 4 speeds and the pans are different... 04-05 2.3l also have 4 speed

I doubt the ford version has a drain plug though... typically, domestics don't have drain plugs
