Default Best place to buy a clutch?

    Hey TM3,

I'm driving an 07 GS hatch and in the past week I've noticed that my shifting has suddenly become incredibly smooth, and I don't think I magically got better at driving it overnight. It also seems like the final engagement point is really high up the pedal which is making me think that my clutch's days are numbered—however, a full throttle third gear pull test is not resulting in any slippage for now.

As such, I think it'd be prudent to start looking for a new clutch kit now to avoid being stranded on the roadside and getting hosed for emergency part costs. I've been looking at the LUK 10-066 and EXEDY MZK1003 on Amazon, with the former currently being $212.12 and the latter being $235.97. I used to have delusions of grandeur of getting a clutch for about $150 but I've kinda given up on that hope for now.

Are there any other stores I should look at? Any sponsored deals for TM3 members? I'm now in Northeastern Ontario so I unfortunately cannot easily pop across town to a specific shop like the old days. Appreciate the advice!

Hey Scully ...i was lucky enough to find a new stage 1 Exedy clutch and lightweight flywheel for $250 on Kijiji .... and just last week picked up Corksport lowering springs in Muskoka.

if you are looking to upgrade i usually source companies who specialize in mazda 3 or MX5 for ideas and what they selling as an upgrade for a oem product and i try to source it in Canada.

for oem others like: https://www.rockauto.com/ or https://www.napacanada.com/ and of course amazon and kijiji

Thanks for the feedback G! That's a hell of a deal, nicely done. I hadn't thought about going to classified sites so I'll definitely take a gander there.

Quick update: called for some quotes and most of my labour costs come in at just under $500. Which is great. However, nobody around here seems to resurface flywheels, which is a problem. Is this something I really should be doing, or could I get away without it? As long as it doesn't adversely affect clutch life I could probably live with it. My alternative might just be to buy a whole new one which bumps my costs by a lot.
