2010 3 Sport Hatch Replace Auto levelling HID lights with non levelling

Broken headlight assembly means replacement needed. Price for the replacement levelling headlight assembly is ~ $900, which is almost 3x as much as the non-levelling.

I've almost never changed the level setting anyway, so why pay extra for it?

Mazda dealer says you can't change them. Apparently, the wiring harness is different. So what if the self levelling wires are not connected?

Has anyone tried this? Insane price for a feature that's so seldom used, but can the non levelling replacement work?

Do you know anyone with a non leveling HID? would be a 20 minute swap and test to try out. Might save you $600. I can't see there being an issue as it is just and electrical connection. If you take the fuse out that may solve any issues.

For anyone looking through old posts for this problem, I looked into swapping the halogens for HIDs on my old 2010 Mazda 3 GX. The wiring harness is definitely different.

What do you mean by broken assembly. I would definetly look in a way to repair then, or look second hand, buying new headlights are expensive. Post a picture what has actually broke.
