Default Fuel economy 2019 Mazda 3GT hatchback.....

Hi guys, hoping to compare notes here with other owners of similar car as mine. I own a 6 speed 2019 Mazda 3gt hatchback. My question is in regards to the km range display when I fill my tank.

It only shows a range of 340km to a full tank. I have had my car since June 2019 and that number hasn't changed whether I run AC, drive with windows open, let car warm up in winter etc....

To me this 340km doesn't seem right and just wanted to see if anyone else can either confirm this is accurate or is there something wrong?

    Thx in advance!

I have a 2015 GT (but auto), my range shows 500-550 km every time I fill-up (so for the last ~5 yrs).

Maybe try to reset it (I think if you reset the trip odo, it will also reset the stats).

Geez looking at the numbers you guys are getting, its baffling. I thought the new Mazda's were supposed to get great mileage. I get better with my '05 GT 2.3

    Question:
Are the gas tanks the same size Gen 1- now ?

Im all modded up and i seem to averaging about 400-500 km at tank on highway ..i always 20km over speed limit when i can.
I kinda get the same mileage when im going easy...maybe a bit better

I think the tank sizes are slightly different, the first generations had 55 litre tanks.

It wouldn't make a difference anyway as no one runs their tanks dry and once the gaslight comes on you still have a reserve, anywhere from 8 to 10 litres.

the range showing is never exactly what you will get. it takes into account. cars warm up outside temp and so on. track the fuel economy on fuelly. it measures the distance you drive vs the fuel used. @dhlwtu

I have a 2019 Mazda3 GT (2.5l) sedan with the automatic tranny, I drive about 70/30 City/highway. I would think I am a more enthusiastic driver most of the time. I am getting about 8.8-9.2 l/100km most of the time. The car's ECM calculates the range based on the average usage, which when I have a full tank, tells me my cruise range is 430km....I think the ECM is erring on the safe side when giving the cruise range so that drivers don't run out of gas on the road.

I sometimes use the trip meter to check for what I actually get for the (approximate) mileage.

I havent driven fuel efficient for years ...
With all the changes ive made on the 2012 2.0L MT5, with super spirited driving im getting 110-130km every 1/4 tank.
Maybe if i keep it under 3K rpm i may get over 550km a tank.

The most fuel efficient Mazda 3 is the sedan with the base 2.0-liter four-cylinder, which earned ratings from the EPA of 28 mpg city and 36 mpg highway; upgrading to the more powerful 2.5-liter nonturbo engine drops those numbers—but not by much—to 26 mpg city and 35 mpg highway.
