I currently have a couple heated seat pads hooked up to a splitter and powered by the console cigarette lighter. But since the console outlet is always powered, leaving the switch on causes parasitic drain on the battery (adds about .60mA).
What I'd like to do is hardwire them with a relay and actual switch buttons in the dash, but not sure where to draw the power from. I've already fuse-tapped the hazard fuse (footwell LEDs) and the cigar fuse (dash cam).
Seat pads are each 12V, usually with an in-line 10A fuse. Since my car was originally a GX, the 30A seat heater slot of the fuse box is blank.
