Hey Guys
I cannot state how important tires are to the overall enjoyment and performance of your car.
Better braking and handling first up grade should be Tires. Also..Like me, many of you who are always
looking for the best bang for your dollar usually end of summer bring some summer tire deals of what remains.
After running 3 summers (including daily driving) on Hankook RS-4 (amazing grip and long wear tire). I did use the RS-4 as benchmark.
I am looking to try something different maybe faster than the RS-4 with same wear or slightly less , same temp 200 AAA.
I am leaning towards these :
Potenza RE-71R
Dunlop Direzza Z111
Toyo Proxies R1R (these were re classified as 200AAA)
NEXEN N FERA SUR 4
Yokohama Advan AD08R
Falken Azenis PT660 and (get ready to mortgage your house )
Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 .
There we others on this list but got dropped because wear was too fast or ridiculously no wet grip.
After reading hours of USA and UK tyre reviews and trying to keep the price close & under 900$ tax / install/roadforce in.
Here is what my tire guy CEO TIREs (in scarborough on Midwest rd) came back to me with whats on sale for 225/45/17
Nitto NT05 $840.00 tax in
Firestone firehawk indy500 $750.00 tax in
yokohama advan neova ad07 $930.00 tax in
bridgestone Potenza re71r $880.00 tax in
I guess im getting the Potenza RE-71R.
I know some you run the Firehawk . The NITTO tire pattern looks like the Hankook RS-4 , but although stickier
i think would only last one summer. Those Advan are a sweet tire but from the reviews i read the RE-71 are
just as strong and fast but with better tread wear.
Cheers
