Default Smoke smell in car (cigarette kind)

Hey guys I just got my first car: 2006 Mazda 3 Sedan

Drove it all the way home to Waterloo from Toronto in awesome gridlock traffic. But it was a good experience since I've only driven stick a handful of times (cough cough in an 2002 echo cough cough) haha. But I made it!

The only thing is the previous owner was a smoker. I sprayed febreeze as a temp solution. Has anyone had any experience on getting the smell out? Any particular products worked best? Any help would be great.

    Thanks,

    Kevin

There is a smoke sent killer fabreeze type otherwise you need to wash your car inside

I remembe reading in that thread where the guy's dog had the runnies in his G35 coupe... and some guy said that he was a smoker and a way he got rid of the smell was a bucket with a rag and vinegar or something. Might be worth a shot. (Mind you the smoker was suggesting that to get rid of the crap smell for the guy haha)

You will most likly have to get the interior professionaly cleaned/shampooed. Smoke gets in the head liner and thats hard to get out. Fabric softener sheets do work good too as then seem to trap odours into them.

Why people still smoke in their cars is beyond me!
