Awesome review! I think I agree with you there. Nothing against the FRS/BRZ, but for DD I think I'd take the Si over the FRS/BRZ.

I have the 3.8GT Genesis all next week, so ask me after that. From my experience with the 2.0T R-Spec, it feels a bit sloppier than the FR-S/BRZ/Si...

    I track, but only 3 - 4 times a year at most.
Having had an ms3 and a CSX type s (SI) before getting a rwd rx8 I can attest fwd isn't remotely close to as much fun even though it might be as quick or quicker. Drifting around a tight turn at 20 kmph has brought a bigger smile to my face than I ever had in the type s or ms3 (often at super sonic speeds).

Not sure a test drive will give you that since it takes some getting used too, but I would definetly consider the rwd as the upgrade regardless of power

    Subaru BRZ ts by STi

I know it's being discussed in another thread but I thought I would include it in here as well.

Looks like this will only be available in Japan with no power upgrades. Mainly brakes, suspensions and aero upgrades.

For Canadians who are still not sure about the differences between the Scion FR-S & Subaru BRZ, here's a pretty good video explaining them.

Paying cash, a BRZ is 35k taxes in.

27k is the base model sticker price with no tax or anything.

The brz is 36-40k financed, 370z money, way too much for what the car is IMO

So you take issue with using the base model/no tax price for the BRZ, and then compare the on-the-road price of 35K to the base/no tax price (40K) of the 370Z? WTF?

Take the base 370Z and add freight & taxes and you get 48.4K. Completely different league (+13K) to the BRZ.

The BRZ might be over-priced for you, for what you get; but there isn't much that can touch it in that price bracket that is rear-wheel drive and at least 200HP.

Yeah... and people say that it isn't overpriced lol
Acceleration is directly proportional to fun for people that don't daily drive sideways on their way to work.

This is true. This is why many Twin owners get a header because it gets rid of the huge torque dip in low RPM's

on the track is where it shines. it took everything i had to keep up with one which had suspension, intake, exhaust, and ecuteck tune at mosport ddt.

agreed though that at that kind of price, one could get a used speed 3 and get it stage 2 and still have money left over for extra goodies.

Sorry i should have pointed out that the 370z can be had for much much cheaper right now than what the nissan canada website says. Forgive me.

If we were talking msrp, yes the nissan is ALOT more.

I was just testing a 370z with a buddy that is looking to replace his 180sx daily with one, and we were SHOCKED at the deal they were willing to make.

The salesman was willing to take***** 17k****** off the price making the car somewhere around 35k taxes in financed.(this was Paul Coffee nissan in kitchener)

The salesman said the cars(370z) are not selling well, they just lowered the us pricing for base model to 29k and the canadian dealer cost has immediately changed also but not the MSRP in Canada , and dealers who have them on hand here are especially willing and able to cut a HUGE deal.

Im not in any way against the frs/brz but with the way they are currently selling at the price they are selling for, i could see a massive flood of frs/brz on the used car market in the next few years.

Where as the z car kinda has its arms flailing because of the brz/frs and gencoupe, now is the time to get into a z car for a steal.

I hope tons of people keep buying the frs/brz because i would love to resurrect one from a junker to be a track toy!

Fair enough. I do like the 370Z, I always figured they would have sold better if they'd been priced more aggressively.

Good vid, Harris is concise and on point all the time. Didn't know the 370z had that much driver disconnect. Given the success of the BRZ/FRS, I really hope this isn't a one off collaboration cuz I'm already looking forward to the 2nd gen models. However, wouldn't be surprised if Toyota calls it quits giving Subaru the shaft as well.

Most likely will be a second gen, at least they hint towards it. But you really should be excited about the Toyota-BMW collaboration for the new supra

Remember toyota owns a decent portion of Fuji Heavy Industry and they seem to be working on more than just this car together!
