I am required to fill out task sheets to keep track of my daily activities for my job. My coworkers claim that they are to busy to fill out these task sheets due to too much work. They never work through lunches, come early or stay late but I was here till 5:45pm last night covering someone else while they are on vacation. The volume of work that they complete is roughly the same as mine.

To top it all off: their supervisor claims that they're employees are too busy and says that I do not have enough work.

How do I go about telling their/my supervisor that these accusations are unsubstantiated and unfair? These coworkers do not keep a record of what they have actually done. Furthermore, could you suggest a good course of action?

Call your boss out on it. Tell her/him to make the others fill out their sheets or else they don't get paid.

for clarification, are you saying that you have to work through lunch, stay late and come in early in order to complete the same volume of work as your co-workers? because that's how it reads to me

5:45 p.m. isn't late, unless you start at 4am and finish at 2pm...still 5:45pm wouldn't be considered late


If you're filling out your time sheets properly they should be able to tell how much workload you have at the moment, if the other co-workers are required to fill out time sheets and it is not being enforced, then that's a management issue. Talk to YOUR supervisor and leave their's out of it

Yep didn't clarify properly. I can complete my regular amount of work in the same amount of time they can. Just venting that I was doing 2 people's work and THEN being accused of not having any work.

My advice to you, and it's tough to do, but try focusing on what you're doing and how well you're doing it and forget everyone else. I need to take a bit of my own advice on this one too.
