Rim sizes that fit Mazda 3 sedan

Hi guys, I\'m a new member. I will pick up my Black 2005 Mazda 3 Gt Gfx this friday. I like the stock 17\" rims, but I hate the oddball size (P205/50/R17) and the price tag per tire. $267.00 each..haha. I want to know whether P215\'s or P225\'s sizes on 17inch rims fit and handle well on our cars. Will they scrape the wheelwell on bumps and making turns? If not, we\'re stuck with Goodyear tires using our stock rims. Too bad, kinda feel sold out abit. Still look good :D

The choices of 205/50/17 is not that limited.

Stock rim (17x6.5) is too narrow for anything over 205, though I\'ve heard some owners put on 215 on stock rims.

Hi :) I\'m thinking of buying new rims too. In the long run, you\'ll save money and wider tires look better too. Who knows, the stock rim tires may get cheaper down the road.

I would entertain P225/55 R16 (less money) or P225/55 R17\'s (same price). Question is will they fit properly for normal/aggressive handling?

I just put Pirelli\'s P225/45 R17 zero nero performance tires on my Black GT (on the stock 17\" rims) when I picked it up today. Traded in the old tires with a $425.00 credit towards them. This info might help the 2006 buyers out there . Tread Life around 70,000 KM\'s. Better than Goodyears 40,000 KM Rating.;)
