I\'ve seen a few 8\'s shoot flames with aftermarket exhaust systems. It\'s not good for the exhaust.

A stock RX-8 as well as most rotary engines will shoot flames out of the exhaust. It\'s not good for the cat\'s but other than that it causes no damage. This was the reason the RX-7 was no longer sold in north america, it simply could not pass our emissions tests.

Rotary vehicles can\'t shoot flames if there\'s cats involved. So clearly this guy doesn\'t have any cats hooked up any more...

And no, the RX-7 was no longer imported due to other costs. Not because of emissions. Although, emissions was given a priority before Ford stepped in and decided to stop the import of RX-7\'s.

That guy in the vid is blowing some major flames... He should lean that puppy out... :)
