does anyone else find this?
I drive the \'04 GT/GFX sedan, AT
i\'m getting close to 60,000 kms on it.
I\'ve also done the ETB mod.

When i\'m cruising on the hwy doing 100-120, at a steady speed,
i find the whole car vibrates quit a bit!
can\'t remember how many RPMs i\'m at at that point,
I think just under 4k on 4th gear.

would this have anything to do with the known engine vibration
problem? or the engine mount TSB? I know my tires are pretty bald,
but i don\'t think that would cause the whole car to shake.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Ray

you probably need to balance your tires. go get them checked, if they are off balance then it can cause vibration during your rides, especially on high speeds

astatik is correct. a shifted belt in a tire would cause a low speed shimmy and disappears at higher speeds. balance problems are usually at higher speeds

My car slightly vibrates at around 80-100km but when I hit over 100km its fine. Would this be the same thing? I just need my tires balanced?

I\'ve had the weights on my rims come off before, and when that happens it throws the whole wheel and therefore car out of balance. That would definately be the first thing to check. While you\'re at it I would also check the tires too for any irregularities (bulges, bald spots, excessive wear, etc) cause you never know.

Same thing in the winter with ice freezing to the bottom part of the rim (sat in the driveway, slush on the rim melts a little and collects at the bottom of the rim and then freezes overnight)

When you go above 70 kph or so you will feel a wobble. If you use winter tires/rims, give them a spray with PAM or WD40 in the fall to avoid this. and never put hub caps on.. only makes it worse.

Jeff handy winter / cooking tips.

PS.. almost forgot dont get any on the brakes / tires..

*bump*

was there any more on this problem because i\'m having the same issue.

pretty sure its not the alignment or the wheel balance though.
the vibration actually increases with the amount of throttle, so i definately think its from the engine.

any ideas?

Not sure is this Mazda 3 Service bulletin is applicable to your situation:
Body Vibration at Cruise Speed (http://www.finishlineperformance.com/mazda3/docs/0036.pdf)

Mine does it in between 70KM-80Km then i goes away. I think its the balacing of my winter tires. The stock tires and rims never did that.

i had same issue, going 110+.
Steering wheel/pedals virbrating.
re-Balancing the tires did the trick (did it for free at avante, car is less than 1 month old).
I hope it is as simple as re-balancing the tires for you guys

My car vibrates at any speed especially in tunnels and underground parking:D

I\'m still experiencing this too... 80-100km/h and I do a lot of highway driving.
My winters are balanced properly and it did this with my RS-A\'s too.

So now my concern is;
Can they refuse to fix this because my car has aftermarket springs?

The TSB states:

* This repair should only be performed if all tires and rims are confirmed to be in balance and all suspension components are in proper working condition

(which they are but again.. warranty?)

hmm

my steering wheel wobbles around like a mofo at anywhere between 90-110ish. its pretty annoying and sometimes its really noticable until u pass those speeds, then its all smooth
