Has anyone noticed that their lights bounce/vibrate when they go over certain bumps in the road like cracks, manhole covers, etc?

Apparently there is an inherit flaw in the Mazda 3 headlights where by the projectors inside the housings are not as secure as they should be. I recently had a pair of OEM HID housings imported from the US, and I can see that sometimes when I go over bumps my lights bounce/vibrate. The high beam reflector and low beam projector are on the same mounting bracket inside the housing. I noticed that when I grab and tug slightly on the high beam bulb the whole unit inside moves a little, which is most likely what is causing this bouncing/vibrating.

Has anyone else experienced this with the OEM halogen lights? Does the unit inside move a little when you tug on the high beam bulb as well?

I personally haven\'t heard this happening to anyone with stock lights. One of the members here though (Ex-Rolla) has a set of HID\'s and is complaining of the same thing. He has explored many options and none of them seemed to have worked thus far. I know in our 3 there is no bouncing whatsoever but we haven\'t modified anything.

That\'s just the thing. I haven’t modified anything either. The lights I have in my 3 now are a set from a US HID equipped 3, and have not been modified in any way, yet they still seem to bounce a bit :(

Hehehe...LOL, I guess they didn\'t. However, it is most likely because I refuse to believe that this is normal. I\'m determined to find a solution to this which doesn’t involve baking and taking the housings apart. I am also very interested in finding out if others have noticed this too.

I can\'t be the only one with super sensitive eyes that has noticed this. If it\'s normal others must have seen it as well.

Thanks for the link Ex-Rolla, but this does not apply to me. I have a set of OEM headlight housings which came of a HID equipped Mazda 3 in the US.

Have you tried asking the yanks on mazda3forums if their cars experience the problem?
