I don\'t know much about cameras/photography but that does seem to be impressive detail from that length away.

the 70-300 is an ok lens. Personally on my XT, I have used it once (i\'ve had the lens since I owned my Rebel which is more than 1.5 years ago). It\'s great for some stuff, but the quality of the lens isn\'t as high as some of the better zoom lenses you can buy. The 18-55 that comes with the camera is not the greastest either. It works for the basic stuff, but if you want some really nice glass...try one of the L series lenses...

I actually just bought a beautiful 28-70 Sigma last week when I was downtown...the canon version is worth over $1000..but god it\'s beautiful.

But don\'t listen to me..I\'m just biased because I do this for a living...great photos! Keep playing with the camera..its amazing the stuff you can do.
