I think we should discuss anything \"Leafs Related\" in this thread. Personally, having already watched all pre-season games on LeafsTV (and attending the game Vs. Montreal)... Leafs look like they will be VERY entertaining to watch this year.

So to all that missed hockey as much as I have and can\'t wait to cheer on the Leafs again (or jump on the band-wagon for the first time)... GO LEAFS GO!!!!!

I love to hate this new rule. Exciting to watch, but an awful awful way to lose a game. It\'s just basically one player deciding the teams\' outcome rather than it being a \"team effort\" and I really hate that.

The lack of Mats Sundin hurt us there. He will score over 70% of the time on a shootout I think :)

Not that I\'m a huge huge hockey aficionado but that second Leafs penalty taker was never going to score. He looked very unsure of himself. I can only imagine that penalty taking is more a matter of nerve than real skill. Thats how it is in football anyways, sorry I\'m British.....soccer :p

not sure about the shootout goals. they mentioned this during the shootout but my friends were all yelling so I missed it.

Source, you may be right about that. I am not sure. never even thought of that. I just know the NHL wanted to eliminate ties. so thought the whole idea was to only get \"points\" for a win. I am sure it will all be explained though and eventually make sense.

I dunno why Quinn has kept him for this long but I would much rather have coliacovo in the line up permanently over berg any day. This guy has no puck handling skills and watching him with the puck in his own zone scares me.. he\'s big but slow so you\'d think he would throw his body around but nope..

I\'m not a big fan of the Leafs defense in general. I never really have been though. they always build the team around the offense. Only 2 good defense pairing are McCabe and Kaberle. Berg\'s not too bad though most of the time. He\'s no superstar, but he can hold his own I think.

I think Quinn is using him as an Enforcer. You just can\'t use Tie Domi all the time.

As a Bruins fan (sorry TML guys, but it's true), you SHOULD be worried. Hell, I'm terrified of Boston drawing Toronto in the first round. The Leafs are hot right now and the only reason they won't make it through round one would be goaltending. Both goalies are untested in the playoffs and could buckle, but aside from that Toronto is a scary team.

As far as the Habs go, aside from Subban and Price I can't stand a single player on that roster (well, I guess Gallagher has earned his stripes, and I have no reason to hate Galchenyuk yet). You guys have managed to scrape together a good season, so kudos, but my gut instinct is that it will be cut short - very short.

Obviously the further they go the better, but IMO I don't think they have to depth to go beyond the 2nd round. 1st round they might fluke out and get an equally young/unproven opponent, but as much as it pains me to say it, I don't think they have all the parts necessary to *consistently* match up against the likes of a Boston-like team just yet.

I think Thursday because they felt sorry for Boston and their schedule, which IMO is ridiculous. Bombing or not they are professionals.

I doubt the Leafs would get a break if they had a similar delay in their schedule.

Yep. It would have been good to take 2 in TO but I don't think it matters where we play. We have to stay consistently strong. Reduce the turnovers and stop hitting the post lol.

Phaneuf needs to stop being the setup man to get out of the defensive zone on the power play. He moves like a boat and by the time he reaches to the neutral zone, Boston already clogged it, got every man covered and the only option is to dump it in and retrieve the puck...which the Leafs can't even seem to do in their own zone either. This was almost like Game 1, except not as sad on the scoring side.

Then there's the horrible turnovers by Fraser and O'Bryne. As well as the risky passes on the power play leading to lots of shorthanded rushes for the Bruins.

The team officially loves the puck. Don't know when to clear it out of their end, don't know when to pass, don't know when to shoot. For f$&k sakes, shoot and gun to the net in the off chance there's a rebound (i.e. power play, 3/2 and 2/1 rushes). Just shoot it! It's a game of chances, you can't outsmart a team like Boston with stick work, so create them. No fancy business, this ain't the juniors. I blame this dysfunction on ignorant coaching and on an incompetent captain. For the amount of puck possession time or %, this team wasn't effective and didn't capitalize on crucial breaks.

That was funny. The previous goal that Boston scored the 2nd time should have been goalie interference. If you watch some replays, you'll see like a 30 secs before the goal, the Boston player holding onto Reimers glove. I'm surprised Reimer didn't wack him with his stick.

I'm hoping this game, the Leafs play more physical and actually get traffic in-front of Rask, maybe even hit him a few times with a Boston player like they have done to us. Only way to beat them is with dirty tricks as they do it to everyone themselves.

i'm hoping that works to the leafs advantage as they are younger. great game tonight!! i'm also surprised that i haven't seen carlyle call a timeout, especially that last game where the leafs were stuck in their own zone. although the icing by grabo was a bad move i really feel bad for the guy as he is clearly one of the leafs best players in this series bt his efforts havent been rewarded and hes been getting crunched by the bruins instead. hope things finally payoff for him.
